Subject: Westside Pheasant Hunting

This year I took my grandson pheasant hunting for his first time. I was impressed with the amount of birds available at Smith Farm and La Conner release sites. We also continued to hunt the rest of the season.

My past experience hunting westside pheasant was not positive. However, this year was much different. There were plenty of birds and well-managed properties.

Given the experience this year, I will buy a westside license next year and join my grandson in the experience.

I would like to comment on the proposed plan to flood the La Conner release site area. This is most distressing. There are few places to hunt in western WA and I would not want to lose another area and put additional pressure on Cherry Valley, Cresent Lake and Stillwater.

Should we lose the La Conner site there should be a plan to replace this with an equal facility to continue the hunting experience that I and others enjoy.

Thank you for consideration in this matter.
