The following e-mail messages concerning a WDFW online license sales were received and responded to by WDFW Director Jeff Koenings.
From: Scott Brown
Dear Sir or Maam; I sent an e-mail to your licensing department regarding an error I made while buying an archery elk tag on-line. When I got my tag in the mail and began organizing my hunt, I realized I selected the western WA tag instead of the Eastern WA tag. I have not elk hunted in several years but I have always hunted the late hunt in eastern WA as your records will show. The reply that I got back was displeasing when told there was nothing you could do. I unfortunately can't afford to buy licenses that are of no use to me. My entire hunting trip and partners are hunting the eastside. If I had purchased my licenses the way I always have, (at the local sports store), this wouldn't have happened. I guess I learned my lesson all be it an expensive one. I don't know how often this is happening with the on-line service but you need to start trusting people who are at least trying to do the right thing and purchasing the tags. I still have the tags in their original form, from an envelope and all together. I will send them back because they are of no use to me and you can see they have not been on a hunt if that's the reason for your first response. I hope something can be done in the future to keep honest sportsmen like myself interested and a proponent of the game department. Thanks; Scott Brown From: Jeff Koenings
Scott, I am looking into this---I can't offer an immediate solution, but give me some time to work on it! Jeff K. From: Scott Brown
Jeff; Just wanted to thank you for your prompt reply. Evan was very accommodating and professional. My faith has been restored in the department. Even though it was my error, I am glad we were able to get it resolved. I will be more careful when ordering in the future. Again thanks! Scott Brown |
