Ponds and Birdbaths

The Backyard Wildlife Pond
Birdbaths

The provision of water can turn an average wildlife habitat into an extraordinary one. While most species depend daily on water for drinking, some also require it for other reasons. Many birds need water to bathe in to keep their feathers in shape. The eggs and young of dragonflies, frogs, toads, and most salamanders need to be in water to develop.
