What is the Washington Vehicle Use Permit?
The 1998 Washington State Legislature established a parking permit requirement on certain Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife lands. Implementation of this legislation created a use permit decal that was formerly known as the Access Stewardship decal. Vehicle Use Permits are required at about 200 access sites managed by WDFW.

What does a Washington Vehicle Use Permit Cost?
Decals cost $10.95 or free with hunting and fishing licenses. A permit may be transferred between two vehicles; simply write the license plate numbers on the permit and be sure it’s openly displayed on your dash or hung from your rearview mirror. Additional decals cost $5.48 each. You can get a decal wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold.

What will the Washington Vehicle Use Permit money be spent on?
As use has increased, so has the routine maintenance burden. Access sites are also targets for illegal dumping and vandalism. The law specifies that decal revenue be spent on these problems.
