  1. Advise the department on all aspects of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
  2. Review and provide guidance on the annual budget for the recreational fisheries enhancement account;
  3. Select a chair of the committee. It is the chair's duty to coordinate with the department on all issues related to the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
  4. Meet at least quarterly with the department's coordinator of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program;
  5. Review and comment on program documents and proposed production of salmon and other species; and
  6. Address other issues related to the purposes of the Puget Sound recreational fisheries enhancement program that are of interest to recreational fishers in Puget Sound.

This advisory committee will not create rules or policies; but will provide insight and recommendations to the Director and the Assistant Director, Fish Program.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the PSRFEF is to conserve, enhance, and promote recreational fisheries within Puget Sound and Lake Washington.  The PSRFEF Oversight Committee members and coordinators jointly:

(A) Develop recommendations, with assistance from the coordinator, for outcome-based goals and objectives to assess the effectiveness of the program;
(B) Meet with the director each year to review these goals and objectives; and
(C) Report annually with the director to the commission on the goals of the program and the effectiveness of the program in meeting those goals.

Program Goal:  Improve the recreational fishing opportunities in Puget Sound and Lake Washington and increase the economic benefits from the fishery.
