Effective Sept, 22, 2018 ALL Salmon fishing will close in Willapa Bay until further notice via emergency regulation.

The reason for this closure is due to the fact that fall Chinook returns to the tributaries of Willapa Bay are significantly lower than preseason predictions.  Closing salmon fisheries will increase the number of hatchery fish available to our hatcheries to make egg take goals at this time. Managers will continue to asses Chinook returns and will re-open the fisheries if warranted.
