WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.

Harvest profile

Not much is known about Silverdale Shoal clam populations, but the site is expected to support populations of Manila clams and butter clams. This site is within an area that is conditionally approved for shellfish harvest by Washington Department of Health. Shellfish harvesters must check the DOH shellfish safety map for current health closure information before harvesting. Oysters are not expected to be common at this location. 

Directions

Silverdale Shoal (Clam Island) is boat access only. This site is exposed only at low tides and is surrounded by water at all times. The highest point on the shoal is located at approximately 47.635o N, 122.684o .

Nearest boat ramp: Silverdale Waterfront Park ramp (located on N.W. Byron Street in south Silverdale) is about 0.88 nautical miles by boat from Silverdale Shoal.

None. There are restrooms and other facilities at Silverdale Waterfront Park.
