Commission makes decisions on land transaction, commercial ticketing application

OLYMPIA – The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission on Friday approved a land transaction and decided to move forward with rule making related to a commercial fish-ticketing application.

At an online meeting, the Commission decided the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) could proceed with the sale of 7 acres of property from a 112-acre parcel in Thurston County. The remaining 105 acres of conservation land will be retained for its original intended purpose as Oregon spotted frog critical habitat.

The Commission then gave the go-ahead for WDFW to pursue rule making to add dealer geolocation to the required information on an electronic fish receiving ticket, part of the WA-Tix electronic commercial catch reporting application that is expected to launch this fall.

The Commission concluded the virtual meeting with a discussion of upcoming meeting agendas and planning.
