Information about Offut Lake in the newly released 1997 Washington Fishing Guide was incomplete.

The guide should have stated that the 192-acre lake 3.5 miles north of Tenino is expected to have good rainbow trout fishing this year. A resort at the lake augments Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife trout plants by releasing 20,000 rainbows raised in its own net pens as part of a cooperative venture with the department. Largemouth bass and perch fishing should be good later in the year. The lake has a state-owned access area with a small boat launch, limited parking and two toilets. The private resort offers boat and dock rentals. Boats must observe a 5-mile-per-hour speed limit. The lake is open for fishing all year.
