PUGET SOUND COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERIES REGULATION HOTLINE 2022-25 Week 44 - UPDATE 10/25/2022 – 3:30PM For the remainder of the week beginning Sunday October 23 all areas are closed except as follows: Area 6-D (Dungeness Bay) will be open to: Gillnets using 5-inch minimum mesh size: 7 AM to 7 PM daily Monday October 24 through Friday October 28. All Chinook and chum must be released by cutting the ensnaring mesh. Areas 7-B (Bellingham Bay): Gillnets using 5-inch minimum mesh size: Open continuously 7 AM Monday October 24 – 4 PM Friday October 28. Purse seines with a 5 inch strip: 7 AM to 6 PM Daily Sunday October 23 - Friday October 28. Brailing of catch and recovery boxes are required. Must release all and Chinook and Coho. Area 9-A (Port Gamble Bay) will be open to: Skiff gillnets with nets not to exceed 600 feet in length and 60 meshes in depth using 5-inch minimum mesh, is open continuously through 7 PM Saturday, October 29. All Chinook must be released by cutting the ensnaring mesh. Area 10/11 (South Sound): Gillnets using 6 1/4 in minumum mesh size: Open 5 PM to 9AM Wednesday, October 26 and Thursday October 27. Purse Seine with a 5 inch strip: Open 7 AM to 6 PM Wednesday October 26. Must release all Chinook and Coho. Areas 12 and 12-B (Hood Canal): Gillnets using 6 1/4-inch minimum mesh size: 7 AM to 8 PM Thursday October 27. Purse seines with a 5 inch strip: Open 7 AM to 6 PM Wednesday October 26. Must release all Chinook and Coho. Hazel Point Closure is in Effect - Those waters of Area 12 south and west of a line projected 94 degrees true from south Hazel Point to the Hood Canal Light 11 on the opposite shore, bounded on the west by the Area 12/12B boundary line are CLOSED to purse seines and gillnets.
