Marine shorelines
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife works to protect and restore nearshore environments -- beaches, bluffs, inlets, and river deltas -- of Puget Sound and the Washington coast.
From shellfish to shorebirds, orcas to salmon, the nearshore waters of Washington carry biological, cultural, and economic significance for humans. With dedicated staff and a network of committed partners, WDFW helps oversee and fund numerous projects working to conserve the nearshore for generations to come.
