Razor clam season closed until fall
The 2007-08 razor clam season officially closed with the last dig of the season held May 24. Over the summer, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife staff will conduct its annual stock assessment of razor clam populations and monitor for marine toxins on each of the beaches the department manages. In September, a series of public meetings will be held to discuss findings and seek input on the structure of the 2008-09 season, which is expected to start in October 2008.
