Trapper education

Prior to purchasing their first Washington state trappers license, trappers must pass the Washington state trapper education exam. There are two different avenues that prospective trappers can take to meet the legal requirements of RCW 77.65.460.

Trapper education classes

The Washington State Trapper’s Association offers classroom courses throughout the year.

Trapper education home study option

Very few trapper education classes are available so most potential trapping students will be interested in the home study option program. A student manual and study guide [PDF] will help you prepare you for the written examination.
