OLYMPIA -- A draft Wild Salmonid Policy developed jointly by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and western Washington treaty tribes will be the focus of attention during a meeting of the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Department staff will brief the commission on the draft joint policy and on another document which would provide additional policy guidance to the department concerning hatchery, harvest and habitat concerns.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Pinnacle Room of the Mountaineers' Building, 300 Third Ave. W. in Seattle. Public comment will be taken.

The commission is scheduled to consider action on both the joint policy and the guidance documents in November.
