Groups of 10 to 12 persons are needed on weekdays and weekends between now and May 25 to walk survey routes from early morning to about noon. Volunteers must be able to walk moderate terrain for several hours, wearing rain-or-shine field clothing and sturdy walking shoes. Volunteers also should be prepared with insect repellent for ticks and mosquitos, sunscreen, drinking water, and snacks.
Volunteer groups meet at 6:30 a.m. at the Dodson Road access to WDFW's Desert Wildlife Area, west of Moses Lake in Grant County. (From Interstate 90, take Dodson Road exit south about 3-1/2 miles.)
