News release Oct. 24, 1997
The fishery was scheduled to close Oct. 31.
Tim Flint, regional fish biologist, said the pond will be open longer because the fishery has proved more popular than expected. WDFW has planted 575 surplus adult coho as well as 40 broodstock rainbow trout, which weigh several pounds, plus 200 catchable rainbows in the 8-inch range.
De Coursey Pond is located in Puyallup's De Coursey Park on 7th Ave. SW.
The pond is open to children age 14 and younger. No fishing license or catch record card is needed and the limit is five fish.
