Large cutthroat being planted in four Grays Harbor waters

ABERDEEN--Four Grays Harbor lakes will receive hatchery broodstock cutthroat trout some as large as 5 pounds beginning this week to provide fall fishing opportunities, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced.

The plants will be completed by Sept. 30.

Here's a breakdown of the upcoming plants:

  • Vance Creek Pond #1: 200 (anglers are reminded the pond is open only to youngsters under age 15 and seniors 70 and older.
  • Vance Creek Pond #2: 400
  • Lake Sylvia: 1,000
  • Lake Aberdeen: 300
