OLYMPIA - Travis Feldner, a veteran law enforcement officer, has been hired by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to fill a vacant enforcement position in Pend Oreille County.
Feldner, who worked for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game for seven years and also served as a reserve officer for the Moscow Police Department, will be stationed in Newport by mid-January.
"I'm pleased to have an enforcement officer back in Pend Oreille County," said Bruce Bjork, WDFW's chief of enforcement. "With his prior experience in law enforcement and his knowledge of natural resources, Travis will be a valued member of our enforcement team."
After graduating in 1992 from Ontario High School in Oregon, Feldner attended nearby Treasure Valley Community College, where he received an associate degree in criminal justice. Feldner, 33, then attended the University of Idaho, where in 2000 he earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife science.
