WINTHROP – The Patterson Lake Access Area, located near Sun Mountain Lodge, will be temporarily closed from Oct. 7 to Nov. 7, 2024, for site improvements designed to enhance the boating and fishing experience.

The redevelopment project aims to improve safety and convenience for visitors while preserving Patterson Lake’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Patterson Lake is known for its year-round recreation and is a popular destination for boaters and anglers. Key improvements will include:

  • new concrete-plank boat launch,
  • new ADA-compliant restroom facility with dedicated parking stalls,
  • paved launch approach and graded parking areas for easier access, and
  • enhanced informational kiosks and modern signage.

While the access area will be closed during the initial phase of construction, the project is expected to be completed by November 2024, with additional work, including piling and asphalt paving planned for 2025.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this closure.

WDFW works to preserve, protect, and perpetuate fish, wildlife and ecosystems while providing sustainable fish and wildlife recreational and commercial opportunities.
