The meeting will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of Lake Quinault High School in Amanda Park. The school is located at the west end of Lake Quinault, off Hwy. 101.
The advanced requirements were put in place for the 1997 season. They are aimed at insuring that Quinault Valley elk hunters have a thorough grounding in hunting ethics and skills.
The recently imposed requirements include completion of a 12-hour conservation project; passing a written test on hunting ethics and landowner issues such as trespassing, and achieving a satisfactory target shooting score.
For more information on the requirements or the meeting contact Jack Smith, wildlife manager, or Max Zahn, district biologist, of the WDFW Region 6 headquarters in Montesano. The headquarters telephone number is (360) 249-6523.
