OLYMPIA -- Citizens may give their views on razor clam management and harvest seasons during a series of September public meetings scheduled by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Comments gathered in the meetings will be considered by the department in setting razor clam harvest seasons.
Topics for the meetings include clam population, new management techniques and co-management with coastal tribes. The agency will outline harvest season options and seek public comment on management options.
The meetings run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the following locations:
- Westport -- Sept.17 in the Ocosta High School commons, 2580 Montesano St. S., Westport.
- Long Beach -- Sept. 18 at the Super 8 Motel, 500 Ocean Beach Blvd, Long Beach.
- Tacoma -- Sept. 23 in the Fife High School cafeteria, 5616 20th St. E., Fife. Take exit 137 off I-5 to 54th Avenue. Head east; turn north onto 20th Street.
- Ocean Shores -- Sept. 25 in the North Beach High School, 336 State Rt. 115, Ocean Shores.
