Release Green River wild steelhead beginning February 5

OLYMPIA--Anglers must release wild steelhead caught in King County's Green River beginning Feb. 5, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.

Wild steelhead caught from the mouth of the river to the Highway 167 bridge must be released from Feb. 5 through the end of the month. Wild steelhead caught from the Highway 167 bridge to the Tacoma diversion dam from Feb. 5 to March 15 also must be released.

Wild steelhead have an adipose fins located on the back just forward of the tail. The adipose fins have been clipped from hatchery steelhead.
