News release Aug. 6, 1998
The district remains open to the harvest of coonstripe, humpback and pink shrimp this season until further notice. The combined daily limit for the three species is 10 pounds. Spot shrimp must be returned immediately to the water unharmed.
The spot shrimp fishery has closed because recreational fishers have taken their share.
Fishers should check the Fishing in Washington regulation pamphlet for additional rules before harvesting shrimp.
Residents from age 15 to 69 must purchase a $5 shellfish/seaweed license. Residents age 70 and older pay $3 for the license. All non-residents are required to have a $5 license.
