OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) this week adopted new rules for special use permits.

The rules amend and clarify existing rules and establish new rules for accessibility permits for people with disabilities.

“We are excited to reduce barriers that may impede participation by people with disabilities by streamlining the administrative processes associated with these common requests,” said Larry Delgado, DEI manager.

The adopted rule culminates a months-long process to develop and refine the rule, including a public comment period and public hearing. The rule’s adoption this month followed the Department Director’s approval in May 2023.

WDFW works to preserve, protect and perpetuate fish, wildlife and ecosystems while providing sustainable fish and wildlife recreational and commercial opportunities.
