News release April 21, 1998
Digging is allowed only during the a.m. tide period. A low tide on Monday of minus 1.8 will occur at 7:53 a.m. Twin Harbors Beach includes the Westport, Grayland and North Cove areas.
WDFW again chose a week day for the one-day extension so that the total allowable catch for the area would not be exceeded. Weekend seasons result in much larger clam harvests.
People age 15 to 69 must have a 1998 Shellfish/Seaweed license to harvest razor clams. The cost is $5. Senior resident licenses cost $3. Diggers are reminded they must keep the first 15 clams regardless of size or condition. Each person's clam limit must be kept in a separate container.
Razor clam digging will not re-open on Long Beach, Copalis (including Ocean Shores, Oyhut and Ocean City), Mocrocks (including Iron Springs, Roosevelt Beach, Pacific Beach and Moclips) or Kalaloch beaches for conservation reasons.
