News release Nov. 18, 1999
MONTESANO-Sport fishers may retain hatchery steelhead caught in Pacific County's North Nemah River.
Anglers may keep up to two hatchery steelhead caught in the North Nemah from the Highway 101 bridge upstream to the lower bridge on the dead-end on the lower Nemah Road. The regulation pamphlet erroneously prohibits the retention of hatchery steelhead from that section of the river.
The North Nemah River, in addition to all other Willapa Bay tributaries, earlier was closed to retaining adult chinook and chum salmon. An Oct. 29 news release listing rivers closing to the harvest of chum salmon omitted the North Nemah.
Anglers should check the Fishing in Washington regulation pamphlet for other rules before fishing in state rivers.
