OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) invites the public to submit written comment on a proposed special use permits rule change through Monday, April 10.

The proposed rule would amend and clarify existing rules and establish new rules for accessibility permits for people with disabilities.

“The proposed changes are intended to reduce barriers that may impede participation by people with disabilities by streamlining the administrative processes associated with these common requests,” said Larry Delgado, WDFW Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager. "We are seeking your feedback on this proposed rule change."

The public is invited to comment on the proposed rule by submitting written comments at publicinput.com/special-use-permits, via email, or by leaving a voicemail message at 855-925-2801 and entering project code 2656.

The public is also invited to attend a virtual hearing, scheduled for 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, in which WDFW Director Kelly Susewind will hear feedback and decide on the proposed rule. Respondents who wish to have their comments incorporated into the April 10 meeting presentation should submit their comments by 8 a.m. April 7.

All members of the public are invited to share their diverse perspectives and participate in WDFW public feedback opportunities regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, language proficiency, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, or basis of disability.
