WDFW’s Southwest Region opens Morton office to the public

Located on the City of Morton’s Main Avenue, the WDFW Cowlitz Wildlife Area field office will now be open to the public to sell licenses and Discover Passes, support pelt sealing requirements, and share information with Lewis County residents.

RIDGEFIELD–The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is pleased to announce that its office in the City of Morton will now be open to the public beginning Thursday, Jan. 18. Office hours will be Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., excluding legal holidays. Previously the office was only open by appointment.

“We are excited to offer additional public services in the east Lewis County area,” said Richard Vanderlip, WDFW’s Cowlitz Wildlife Area manager. “The office will be able to assist with fishing and hunting license sales, local access information, and pelt sealing.”

As part of WDFW’s Southwest Region (Region 5), the Cowlitz Wildlife Area field office is located at 110 Main Ave in Morton. The office is close to the Cowlitz Wildlife Area, Cowlitz River, Riffe Lake, and several national forests and other public lands popular for fishing, hunting, wildlife watching, and outdoor recreation.
