YAKIMA—The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Goldendale hatchery crew this week stocked eight lakes in the Yakima region with 600 excess rainbow trout broodstock that will provide whopper catches for anglers.
The trout, which weigh from four to eight pounds, no longer are needed in hatchery production. They were stocked in the following numbers and lakes, all of which are open either year-round or for winter fishing:

- Columbia Park Lagoon - 50
- I-82 Pond #4 - 80
- I-82 Pond #6 - 80
- Rotary Lake - 80
- Myron Lake - 80
- N. Elton Pond - 80
- N. Fio Rito Lake - 80
- Mattoon Lake - 70
