WDFW statement Nov. 26, 2024

 Last updated: Nov. 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., WDFW Police were notified of a one-vehicle accident involving an overturned fish stocking truck in transit to Offut Lake. The vehicle driver, a WDFW employee, was treated by EMS on scene for minor injuries and released. Tow vehicles helped to clear the scene and cleanup efforts are underway to remove the fingerling trout.

The incident resulted in a loss of more than 7,500 fingerling rainbow trout, which would have been released at Offut Lake in the spring. The Department successfully delivered 2,000 fingerling rainbow trout today to that location and has plans to replace the fish lost in the accident.
