Anderson Landing County Park

WDFW Beach Season Information

Clam, mussel, and oyster seasons OPEN for harvest year-round.

WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.

Harvest profile

Manila clams and oysters can be found at this beach. The beach is accessible from two different trails that start at the Anderson Landing Preserve trailhead and parking lot. Both trails are somewhat steep and gain about 250 feet in elevation in approximately half a mile. It is advised to gather clam purging water from a different location to avoid carrying a heavy bucket of water up the trails.
After leaving the parking lot, stay right for the most direct route and less steep path to to the beach. The other trail veers left and continues along the south side of the park and adjacent to private property, with several loop trails that branch off of it. Both routes lead to the beach access. Check the Kitsap County trail map (PDF) to navigate the trail system. All trails wind through a wooded area and will likely be muddy after rain, or during spring, fall, or winter. The beach access at the high drift is littered with driftwood and there are tree roots to navigate through. The beach boundaries are about 450 feet north and 1,500 feet south of the creek where the trail ends at the beach. The beach has areas of very soft mud. If you find that you are sinking a little deeper when exploring the beach, be sure to backtrack and find a more solid route.
