WDFW Beach Season Information

Clam, mussel, and oyster seasons OPEN for harvest year-round.

WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.

Access to this beach is by boat only. Long Island Northwest (Diamond Point) is accessible by boat only. There is no upland access to this beach.

Harvest profile

Boat Access Only. Located on the northwest tip of Long Island, from mean high water out to the eastern boundary of Long Island Oyster Reserve. Harvest is allowed west on reserve tidelands to mean lower low water between reserve monuments 39, 40, and 41.

Facilities

Camping is permitted on Long Island. There are five campgrounds containing a total of 24 campsites. Call the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, (360) 484-3482, to inquire about campsite availability prior to your trip.

Sanitary Facilities: Vault toilets are available at each campground. A public restroom is also located across the highway from the Refuge boat launch.

Nearest boat launch is located at Willapa Bay Wildlife Refuge or Port of Peninsula.
