WDFW Beach Season Information

Clam, mussel, and oyster seasons OPEN for harvest year-round.

Damon Point is currently closed to public access due to dangerous tidal conditions. 

WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.

Harvest profile

Damon Point is managed by the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Access and nearby parking are managed by the City of Ocean Shores and are currently closed due to dangerous tidal conditions. Trespassing is prohibited on the neighboring Quinault Marina & RV Park, which is managed by the Quinault Indian Nation.

Not much is known about shellfish resources on this beach.  The area consist of a mile long by half-mile wide peninsula with exposed beach stretching out into Grays Harbor. Certain areas of the beach trail may be closed to protect nesting birds.

Parking

There is room for six vehicles to park just outside the Damon Point Park entrance.  

Facilities

There is a portable toilet and information signs at the park trail entrance.
