Drone flights to spray weeds at Snoqualmie Wildlife Area units

Information alert

From April through August, WDFW staff will intermittently fly drones over several units of Snoqualmie Wildlife Area to spray weeds.

The goal of this drone flights project is to improve habitat conditions by applying herbicide to invasive vegetation particularly reed canary grass. Flights will be strictly over WDFW-managed lands. No area closures are planned. WDFW will avoid collecting personal information during mapping flights. Pilots will take reasonable steps to avoid disturbing waterfowl or other wildlife. When flights occur, temporary signage will be posted on site informing the public of drone use and vegetation treatment.
