The Big Muddy wolf pack was confirmed as a pack in 2022. According to the 2024 annual population survey, Big Muddy is no longer considered a pack in Washigton (see the Washington Gray Wolf Conservation and Management 2024 Annual Report for more information).
The Big Muddy wolf pack was the first wolf pack documented in the South Cascades and Northwest Coast wolf recovery region since wolves returned to Washington.
