CWD Test Results Lookup

If you've had your harvested or roadkill-salvaged white-tailed deer tested for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), use the form below to find your test results. Your results will appear as one of the messages in bold below. It can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks from the date of sample collection to when results are available. For more information, visit the Chronic Wasting Disease Surveillance Program page.

Pending: Sample testing is in progress. CWD test results will be available 4-6 weeks after submitting a sample.

No Result: No sample was found to be associated with the WILD ID or Salvage Permit ID. Please confirm the WILD ID or Salvage Permit ID is correct and try again. Note that it may take up to 72 hours after collection for a sample to show as “Pending.” Please wait at least three days after sample submission (one week for self-service drop off) to contact WDFW for help. If that amount of time has elapsed and no sample result is associated with your ID, please contact WDFW at CWD@dfw.wa.gov for assistance.

CWD Not Detected: CWD not detected in sample.

Unable to test sample: The sample that was submitted could not be tested. Likely reasons for this result are that the incorrect tissue was provided, it was too decomposed, or an insufficient amount of tissue was available for testing.

CWD Detected: CWD detected in sample. WDFW will assist with disposal if you choose not to consume the meat. For hunters, replacement tags will be offered if the season is still open. Please contact WDFW at CWD@dfw.wa.gov or 509-892-1001 for assistance.
