Avoid accidently transporting AIS on your motorized or non-motorized watercraft and trailers by stopping at all FREE mandatory watercraft inspection stations.
Stopping is mandatory and helps protect our waters from AIS (RCW 77.135.120). If needed, staff will provide a FREE decontamination after inspection.
Who needs to stop?
All registered, commercial, and small vessels must stop, motorized and non-motorized (RCW 77.135.120). This includes, but is not limited to:
- Powerboats
- Fishing boats
- Kayaks
- Paddleboards
- Canoes
What to Expect
Inspectors look for AIS hitching a ride on your watercraft or trailer and gather important information for preventing the introduction and spread of AIS.
An invasive mussel detection dog may assist with the inspection. If needed, staff will provide a FREE decontamination after the inspection if needed.
