The fourth annual Fish Hunt Northwest Kids Trout Derby will be held May 18 at the Summit Lake Community Center, 11545 Summit Lake Road NW, Olympia, WA.
The free event is for children 14 and under, and each child will receive a free T-shirt and raffle ticket. The event starts at daylight, and participants must be in line for weigh-in by 11 a.m.
Participants can fish the lake from a boat or from the bank. Guides from the Washington State Guide Association will provide boats for families without them to get out on the water. Seats are limited.
WDFW will provide a trout pond for children 5 and under to fish and win prizes. Mission Outdoors will provide free breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Face painting, games, and other activities will also be available for children.
