ADA accessibility change
at Forks Creek Hatchery

Action: Broadens ADA accessible fishing at Forks Creek Hatchery in Pacific County for anglers with disabilities.

Effective dates: Oct. 1, 2015 through Jan. 28, 2016

All species: Night closure and single point barbless hooks required; stationary gear restriction.

Location: Within the designated ADA fishing area at Forks Creek Hatchery; from adult weir upstream 500 feet to the fishing boundary sign.

Reason for action: Surplus coho, hatchery chinook and hatchery steelhead exist to provide expanded opportunities for sport fisheries with ADA access only.

Other information: Anglers with lower extremity disabilities who must permanently use a medically prescribed assistive device every time for mobility as defined in WAC 232-12-825(1)(a) AND who have been issued a designated harvester companion card to fish within the designated ADA Access Area from the adult weir at Forks Creek Hatchery upstream 500 feet to the fishing boundary sign.

Anglers and/or harvesters must follow all applicable fishing regulations.

Anglers and/or harvesters must yield ramp access to persons permanently using a wheelchair.
