Allow chinook salmon retention
from Wells Dam to Brewster
Action: Allow retention of chinook salmon on the Columbia River from Wells Dam to the Highway 173 Bridge in Brewster.
Effective dates: Sept. 28 through Oct. 15, 2011.
Location: From Wells Dam to the Highway 173 Bridge in Brewster.
Species affected: Chinook salmon
Reason for action: To allow anglers to retain chinook salmon during steelhead fishery.
Other information: Daily limit six chinook salmon. Minimum size 12 inches. Up to three adult chinook may be retained of which only one may be a wild adult. Release all coho.
Important angler notes:
(1) Selective gear rules are in effect, except bait is allowed.
(2) Night closure is in effect.
(3) Anglers must possess a steelhead/salmon endorsement stamp as part of their
valid fishing license.
