Amend recreational fishing rules
for Kids Fishing event at Gene Coulon Park

Action: Opens fishing at temporary net pens in Lake Washington at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park to youth anglers participating in the CAST for Kids Fishing event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 4.

Effective Date: June 4, 2016

Species affected: Rainbow trout

Location: Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, Lake Washington, King County

Reasons for action: This rule change is necessary to assure a successful Kids Fishing event. Only registered youth anglers will be permitted to fish in the net pen.

Other information: The Kids Fishing event is coordinated by the CAST for Kids Foundation. The event offers children an opportunity to participate and learn about fishing who would otherwise not get the chance. After the even the nets and fish will be removed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
