Anglers allowed to retain whitefish and other game fish in the Cispus River

November 9, 2007

Action: Allow anglers to retain game fish other than trout in the Cispus River downstream of the confluence of the North Fork.

Effective date: 12:01 a.m., Nov. 10, 2007 through May 31, 2008.

Species affected: Whitefish and other game fish.

Location: The Cispus River from the mouth (posted markers at the Lewis County PUD kayak launch) upstream to the North Fork.

Reason for action: This will allow harvest of whitefish and other game fish while continuing to restrict trout harvest on hatchery steelhead.

Other information: Statewide daily limits apply. Proposed Rule Change #46, to make this change permanent, is included in the 2008-2009 Sportfishing Rule Proposal package.

Information contact: Wolf Dammers, (360) 906-6709.
