Anglers may retain up to 2 coho in Marine Area 13
Action: Returns salmon daily limits in Marine Area 13 to permanent rules as listed in the 2019-20 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet, allowing anglers to retain up to two coho as part of the salmon daily limit. Maintains coho daily limit of no more than 1 coho in Marine Area 8-1 and Marine Area 10.

Effective date: Oct. 7, 2019.

Species affected: Coho salmon.

Locations: Marine areas 8-1 (Deception Pass, Hope Island, Skagit Bay), 10 (Seattle/Bremerton Area), and 13 (South Puget Sound).

Reason for action: While precautionary measures for coho remain necessary for Marine Areas 8-1 and 10, escapement and hatchery goals are expected to be met for coho stocks in Marine Area 13.

Salmon rules by area:

Marine Area 8-1: Immediately through Oct. 31: Daily limit 2; up to 1 coho may be retained. Release pinks and Chinook.

Marine Area 10: Immediately through Nov. 15: Daily limit 2; up to 1 coho may be retained. Release Chinook.

Marine Area 13: Immediately through June 30: Daily limit 2. Chinook min. size 22”. Release wild coho and wild Chinook.

Additional information: Rules for year-round docks and piers remain unchanged.
