Anglers must release all tagged salmon on upper Columbia and Okanogan Rivers
Action: Released of all tagged salmon
Species affected: Summer Chinook salmon
Location: Columbia River from Priest Rapids Dam up river to Chief Joseph Dam, and the Okanogan River.
Effective dates: July 15 through Oct. 15, 2006
Reason for action: During routine biological sampling at Wells, and Dryden dams, a small number of Chinook will be sampled for management and research purposes. The biological sampling is necessary to better estimate the stock structure and the number of wild fish returning to the upper Columbia River Basin.
Other Information: The tag consists of a colored Anchor Tag approximately two inches in length located near the dorsal fin.
