Bradley Lake fishing closure for
youth fishing event
Action: Close Bradley Lake to fishing by the public one day prior to a youth fishing event and until noon on the day of the event.
Effective dates:
· May 19, 12:01 a.m.-- entire lake closed to fishing
· May 20, 7 a.m. to noon -- open to fishing for juvenile anglers only (14 years and younger)
· May 20, noon lake reopens to public fishing
Location: Bradley Lake is located east of State route 161 on Puyallups South Hill, Pierce County.
Reasons for action: This rule change is necessary to assure a safe and successful fishing event for juvenile anglers at Bradley Lake. This youth fishing activity is traditionally held at Wapato Lake, which was closed to public access this spring due to water quality and public health concerns, so sponsors had to find a new place to hold this year?s event. Trout will be stocked on Friday, May 19, and closing the lake will ensure there are fish for youngsters to catch on Saturday. On the day of the event, only anglers under the age of 15 will be allowed to fish from 7 a.m. until noon. The pond will reopen to anglers 15 and over at noon on May 20.
Information contact: Terry Rudnick, WDFW Youth Sport fishing Coordinator, (360) 902-2687.
