Cascade River coho fishery extended

Action: Extends coho season.

Effective dates: Immediately through Nov. 30, 2023.

Species affected: Coho salmon.

Location: Cascade River from mouth to Rockport-Cascade Road Bridge.

Rule: Minimum size is 12 inches. Daily limit is four (4) coho. Release all salmon other than coho. Night closure and anti-snagging rules in effect.

Reason for action: More hatchery coho have returned than expected and broodstock goals are met.

Additional information: This fishery will continue to be closely monitored by WDFW to ensure harvest stays within conservation guidelines. Anglers are asked to cooperate with creel personnel collecting catch information. Monitoring and evaluation of fisheries is an important part of ensuring we are meeting our conservation goals for salmon.
