Cascade River coho fishery season extended through Nov. 30

Action: Extends coho season on the Cascade River.

Location: Cascade River (Skagit County) from the mouth to the Rockport-Cascade Rd Bridge. Catch Record Code 826.

Effective dates: Immediately through Nov. 30, 2021.

Species affected: Coho salmon.

Rule: Min. size 12". Daily limit 4 coho. Release all salmon other than coho. Anti-snagging rule and night closure in effect.

Reason for action: Broodstock needs have been met at Marblemount Hatchery and the return of Skagit River wild coho is greater than forecast.

Additional information: Anglers are asked to avoid fishing in areas where any chum or late-returning Chinook may be staged or spawning, to avoid incidental catches.
