Catch-and-release fishing only at Munn, Susan Lakes

March 19, 2010

Action: The fishery at Munn and Susan lakes is changed to catch and release, selective gear rules. All fish must be released.

Effective dates: April 24 through April 30, 2010.

Location: Munn and Susan lakes in Thurston County.

Species affected: All fish.

Reason for action: The Fish and Wildlife Commission recently adopted regulations making Munn and Susan lakes year- round, catch-and-release fisheries beginning May 1, 2010. The current regulations allow for retention fisheries from April 24-April 30. This action changes those retention fisheries on the two lakes to catch-and-release fisheries, allowing stocked fish to be available to anglers for a longer period of time.

Other information: Anglers should refer to the Sport fishing Rules 2009/2010 pamphlet edition, FISHING IN WASHINGTON for other ongoing fishing opportunities.
