Changes to ocean salmon closing dates

Action: Marine Areas 1 and 2 closing to salmon angling.

Effective Dates: Marine Area 1 will close 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 and Marine Area 2 will close 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

Species affected: Chinook and coho salmon

Location: Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco) and Marine Area 2 (Westport)

Reason for action: Both Marine Areas 1 and 2 are projected to take their coho quota.

Other information: Marine Areas 3 and 4 will close on the season ending date of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014.
