Chehalis River closed for spring chinook fishery

Action: Closure of recreational spring chinook fishery in Chehalis River.

Effective dates: April 16 through April 30, 2008.

Species affected: Spring Chinook

Location: Chehalis River: Areas include mouth to Porter Bridge, and from Porter Bridge to high bridge on Weyerhauser 1000 line.

Reasons for action: With a preseason forecast of 900, Chehalis River spring Chinook are well below the escapement goal of 1,400. This emergency rule is necessary to correspond with the original intent of regulations developed through North of Falcon. This emergency rule will be in place until permanent rules take effect May 1, 2008.
